Abstract
A process for growing a bacterium or a Streptomyces strain and producing therefrom a metabolism product by fermentative cultivation comprises cultivating the bacterium or Streptomyces strain in a nutrient medium containing 0.01-100 g /ml. of kinetin (6-furfurylaminopurine).ALSO:Antibiotics are produced by growing an antibiotic-producing bacterium or Streptomyces strain in a nutrient medium containing 0.01 to 100 g /ml. of kinetin (6-furfurylaminopurine). The process may be used for the production of tetracycline, chlorotetracycline, oxytetracycline, novobiocin, moenomycin, actinomycin, neomycin, bacitracin, colistin, polymyxin, pyocyanin or streptomycin.
