[Also in Division H2] To keep the pressure or rate of flow of a pump P (Fig. 1, not shown) e.g. in a borehole, constant the speed of its A. C. driving motor M is controlled by energizing a control winding D. C. b of at least one transductor in the stator supply circuit with a current dependent on said pressure or rate of flow. There may be one transductor only, speed being controlled by unbalancing the three phase supply, but alternatively there is a transductor in each phase, with series connected control windings. The desired output may be adjusted by a potentiometer SR which either supplies a second control winding D. C. a, or backs off the control current, which is supplied by an amplifier A connected to an unspecified transducer C. The transductor is auto-selfexcited by rectifiers in series with its main windings MW.
