In an arrangement for determining the moisture content of a material by measuring its electrical resistance and which includes an amplifier in the indicator circuit, the amplifier comprises two transistors the emitters and basis of both of which are connected directly or otherwise to the measuring probes. The transistors are preferably of N-P-N type and the circuit includes balancing and adjusting resistors. An arrangement in which A.C. is applied to the measuring probes is described with reference to Fig. 3 (not shown).
