Abstract

1,022,383. Electric motors. GRETAG A.G. March 9, 1964 [March 7, 1963], No. 9910/64. Addition to 979,172. Heading H2A. A flat stepping motor, as described in the parent Specification, having a stator comprising three wound pole pairs P 1 <SP>1</SP>P 1 <SP>11</SP>, P 2 <SP>1</SP>P 2 <SP>11</SP>, P 3 <SP>1</SP>P 3 <SP>11</SP> co-operating with a permanently magnetized rotor consisting of three parts 1a, 1b, 1c, where the magnetic axis of each part is displaced by 120 degrees in the direction of rotation, is modified by providing a magnetic shunt member SK between yokes J 1 , J 2 joining the stator poles on each side of the rotor. The windings W 1 , W 2 , W 3 are arranged to be energized through switch means such that flux # 1 , in one pole pair is always opposed to the flux # 2 , # 3 in the other pole pairs as the rotor steps round. A second magnetic shunt member may be provided, Fig. 3 (not shown), or the stator structure may be modified by having wound poles on only one side of the rotor, Fig. 4 (not shown) The rotor may comprise a single cylindrical bar having sections magnetized along different axes.
