Abstract
1,022,351. Transistor amplifying circuits. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 31, 1962 [June 9, 1961], No. 20858/61. Heading H3T. A multistage negative feedback amplifier includes a transistor TR3 in common emitter arrangement, having its collector connected to the emitter of a second transistor TR2 connected in common base arrangement, with a capacitor C connected between the collector of transistor TR2 and a point of fixed potential or the base of transistor TR3 so as to provide a capacity to earth which is substantially unaffected by variations of the base collector capacitances of the two transistors. The capacitor provides an effective capacitance to earth which, together with the associated circuit impedances, determines the high frequency cut-off of the amplifier. The output stages comprise emitter follower stages TR4-TR6 with negative feedback taken from resistor network 19-22 to give a low output impedance.
