Abstract
<PICT:1019807/C1/1> A gas burner discharge plate 18 comprises a thin-walled ceramic honeycomb having an inlet surface 37, an opposed combustion surface 28 with peaked protrusions, and uniformly distributed gas paths extending between the surfaces 27, 28 and defined by thin ceramic walls 30. The honeycomb is assembled from layers of corrugated tea bag paper coated with a pulverized ceramic of e.g. a lithium aluminosilicate such as crystalline petallite, beta spodumene, glass ceramics or a mixture of the above.
