Abstract

An anhydrous mixture of synthetic rubber and thermoplastic synthetic resin and pale active reinforcing fillers prepared under the influence of shearing forces is mixed with 0.5 to 10% of a wetting agent, 0.5 to 10% of a water-soluble or water-swellable salt of polyacrylic acid or a water-soluble or water-swellable polyacrylamide and 1 to 10% of an alkali, and water added under the influence of further shearing forces until an oil-in-water type of dispersion is formed. The details are as for Specification 1,019,631 with the exception that the thermoplastic synthetic resin is present. Specified resins are polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinylidene chloride, low - and high-pressure polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene and polyacrylic acid and polymethacrylic acid esters.
