Abstract

1,019,589. Motor vehicle fuel tanks; exhaust silencers. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. Jan. 1, 1965, No. 12/65. Heading B7H. The fuel tank 19 and exhaust silencer 23 of a passenger motor vehicle are disposed below the rear passenger seat 15 under an upwardly curved portion of the floor pan 17. An engine mounted at the front of the vehicle drives the front wheels. The silencer 23 may be curved (Fig. 3, not shown) to follow the curve of the floor.
