[Also in Division G2] A device for indicating selected combinations of signs on a projection screen 2 consists of indicating elements 1, la, 1b 1c each with a separate housing 4 in which fits an open-sided slide 5 containing a group of projectors with their individual lamps 6, signs for projection and condenser lenses 10 and projection lenses 11 arranged on common adjustable carriers 10a and 11a. All the lamp filaments in each indicator element lie on arcs 8, 9 in a common plane such as 7 which is at right-angles to the axis 3 of the projected signs on plate 2. The brightness of images with large projection angles α is maintained by providing grooves 16 of arcuate section on the rear face of plate 2 and running parallel to the axis 3, while the curved strip 15 carries projection apertures whose diameters decrease with distance from the centre of the strip. Lamp connections are formed by springs 18 and a contact plate 19 which is connected to the outermost spring. Spring contact is maintained over a range of slide 5 positions. The lamps are enclosed by a common cooling casing 17 of a high thermal conducting material with cooling ribs.
