A push-pull door catch for a refrigerator comprises a resilient hook member 2 and a rigid cam member 4, the catch when in fastened condition, partly supporting the weight of the door. As shown, the cam member 4 constitutes an electric switch casing, the switch controlling a lamp within the refrigerator and operated by the door. The engagement of the hook member with the cam member is adjustable by means of a screw 7 to vary the depth of a concavity at the rear side of the hook member and the catch is reversible for right-hand and left-hand closing doors.
