[Also in Division F4] An oven A has electric heating elements B and includes a pair of synchronized moving chains 49, 50., driven by electric motor 47, supporting meat on spits therebetween and is provided with an electically heated element G for receiving grease drippings from the meat which smoke and hence impart a flavour to the meat. The oven is also provided with means 63 for slowly burning hickory chips 65 to impart a further flavour to the meat. Thermostats are provided to control the temperature of the oven, element G, the hickory smoker 63 and the heating elements of a warming compartment 28. Various arrangements of spits described allow one or both faces and the ends of the meat to be continuously disposed towards the heating elements B, Figs. 6-9 (not shown).
