Abstract

101,833. Blackburn Aeroplane & Motor Co., and Blackburn, R. April 12, 1916. Straps and bands.- The ends of a safety belt a, Fig. 1, for aviators are passed into pockets b<2>, b<3> on semielliptical pads b', b. One end of the belt is secured in the pocket b<3>, and the other end is passed loosely into the pocket b<2> and adjustably held by buckle straps c on the pad. The pads are secured together by a loop h on the pad b<1>, which is held by a hook i, the bill being held down on to the loop by a spring n on the base-plate m. By means of a chain p made fast in a hole i<3> in the hook, the bill of the hook can be released from the loop h and the belt thus unfastened. The other end of the chain is fastened to a fitting q on a disk r, which also carries the horizontal and vertical securing-straps t'.
