An end-mill has flutes 4 in a hemi-spherical end-face 3, the width of the flutes being 1/ 5 -<SP>1</SP>/ 6 of the diameter of a four-flute mill, #-<SP>1</SP>/ 10 for six flutes and <SP>1</SP>/ 10 for eight flutes. Chip breaking grooves 7 are provided. The rake angle varies from 0 to 10 degrees.
