Abstract

A method of preparing a copolyamide comprises reacting a dibasic acid and an equimolar amount of piperazine, 2:5-dimethyl piperazine and/or 2-methyl piperazine with epsilon-caprolactam, the ratio by weight of acid and diamine to lactam being 5:95 to 20:80. Specified acids are adipic, terephthalic and/or isophthalic acid. Organic dyestuffs may be added to the products.
