Abstract

1,017,529. Drying apparatus. LUCA INTERNATIONAL (BAHAMAS) Ltd. Aug. 13, 1964 [Aug. 13, 1963], No. 33123/64. Heading H5H. A high-speed dryer for moving webs comprises rows of infra-red elements 2 mounted on metal reflector plates 10 slidable in brackets 14 in housings 1a. A blower 30, Fig. 1 (not shown), supplies air through manifold 26 and ducts 33 to assist drying and to cool the reflectors 10 and the electrical connections. Releasing wing-nut 44 and strut 41 allows the heater housings 1a to swing outwards on hinges 37 for maintenance. Electrical connection to the heaters is made through a plug-and-socket 28 mounted on the air manifold.
