Abstract

1,017,325. Distributing granular material. LANDBOUWWERKTINGEN EN MACHINEFABRIEK H. VISSERS N.V. Aug. 4, 1964 [July 24, 1963; Oct. 18, 1963 (2)], No. 30738/64. Heading A1D. To enable a conveyer screw 8 in the bottom of a hopper 1 to operate only when the hopper is partially empty a spring member 18 is provided in the drive to the screw 8 which drive includes a pawl and ratchet device 10, 20 so that the spring takes up the movement of a driving member 13 when the reaction of the material on the screw exceeds a predetermined value. A liquid or gas filled cylinder and piston may replace the spring 18. As described the material is distributed from the hopper by a reciprocatable spout.
