Abstract
1,016,787. Semi-conductor devices. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA. Dec. 17, 1962 [Dec. 28, 1961], No. 47596/62. Heading H1K. A semi-conductor device e.g. an alloy junction transistor on a mounting stem 10 (Fig. 1) is housed in a metal can 23 the space within which is filled with a prefrabricated thermally conductive but electrically insulating member 21 or members 31, 33 (Fig. 3, not shown) defining a cavity in which the device and its leads are a close fit. The insulating member may be of beryllium oxide and the remaining space in the housing filled with potting compound to further improve heat dissipation.
