Abstract

[Also in Division H1] An electro-pneumatic transducer comprises lever 14 fixed to a support 13 and carrying a valve closure 18<SP>1</SP> which controls leakage from a port 19. The pressure in the line 26 leading to the port 19 actuates a relay valve to provide an output pressure which is also fed to a chamber 28 to act on a diaphragm 27 and a feedback spring 31 which may be U-shaped or a coil spring. The lever 14 carries an armature 16 and is bonded by an adjustable spring 31<SP>1</SP> which acts on the lever together with the feedback spring 31 to oppose the magnetic pull of a solenoid 17, (see Division H1), on the armature. The electrical signal fed to the solenoid 17 may be responsive to temperature or light intensity and the output pressure may actuate a valve. The lever 14 may carry a balance weight 15 or a second armature may be mounted on the lever on the opposite side of the pivot from armature 16, this second armature cooperating with a second solenoid.
