Abstract

1,016,563. Stud and socket fastenings. ALEXANDER (SILVERTHORNE) Ltd. Oct. 4, 1963 [Oct. 31, 1962; May 15, 1963]. Nos. 41127/62 and 19183/63. Heading E2B. [Also in Divisions A4 and F2] A bathroom fixture, a soap dish, or a coat peg having at least one hook 16, is fixed on a wall by sliding on to a plate 10 (secured to the wall by screws in holes 11) so that a T-sectioned slot 15 engages the complementarily-shaped plate and grooves 19 engage ribs 18 to prevent inadvertent detachment. From its bottom end 10b the plate 10 tapers to its top end 10a and the slot 15 has a similar taper. For storage before use, the plate 10 may be engaged in the slot 15 with screws contained in a recess on the front face 13 of the plate and for release from this temporary assembly there is a slot 20 to receive a blade such as that of a screwdriver for levering the members apart.
