Drawer runners are supported on a base frame 11 which is insertable into and removable from its operative position in an article of furniture without the use of tools. The base frame is inserted in a raised position and subsequently lowered to its operative position and means are provided for releasably securing the frame in its operative position. The base frame 11 comprises longitudinal channel members 12 joined by front and rear cross-ties 13. In one embodiment Fig. 1, a groove 4 in the wall 1 has a widened mouth containing a channel member 6, and the cross-ties 13 slidably engage within the groove 4 and channel 6 and are located by engagement of a projection 7 on the channel 6 in a hole in the front cross-tie 13. A wooden insert 14 secured in each frame section 12 includes a groove 15 in which slides an L-section member 23 secured to a drawer 21, a lowfriction nylon block being fitted at the mouth of the groove 15. Alternatively (Fig. 5 not shown), a first roller 32 mounted on the frame member 12 and a second roller 38 mounted on the L-section member 23 respectively engage the L-section member 23 and a rail 41 secured to the frame member 12. A stop is mounted on the upper portion 39 of the frame member 12 to engage the collar 38 and prevent complete withdrawal of the drawer 21. In another arrangement (Fig. 7 not shown), with a telescopic guide, the drawer 21 is carried by rollers 50 secured to a pull-out frame 47 supported by rollers, such as 49, carried thereby and engaging the upper and lower flanges of the frame member 12. In a further arrangement (Fig. 9 not shown) the base frame 11 may be secured by engagement of a hole in the front cross-tie 13 with a projection 61 formed on a tongue bent out from a vertical plate 58 secured to the wall 55. The tongue may be bent out directly from the wall of a metal cabinet.
