A rotary wafer switch has a rotor 7 comprising two insulating sections 10, 14 of thermo-plastic material each carrying at least one projecting pin 15 which locates a movable wafer contact 6, the two rotor sections being joined together by a heating operation. The contacts 6 are located on one or more of the pins 15 which are then deformed by heat or by a combined heating and pressing operation to fix the contacts on the rotor. Section 10 has two or more further pins 12 which locate in apertures 13 of section 14, the pins 12 then being deformed to hold the two sections together, either by a combined heating and pressing operation or by a heating operation.
