Abstract
790,435. Switch contacts; make-and-break switches, mechanical. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. May 4, 1956 [May 4, 1955], No. 12979/55. Class 38 (5). An insulating member has contacts on opposite faces thereof, the contacts comprising two conducting plates each extending through a common slot in the member and being folded back on themselves against the faces of the member. Two circular plates 1b, 1c are passed through the slot 1a in the insulating member 1 and then folded back to form parts 3a, 3b. As shown, the invention is applied to a contact rectifier and the part 3a bears against the movable contact 4 which has a locating extension 4a in an aperture 2 of member 1 and which co-operates with fixed contacts 5a, 5b. The parts 1 connect the contact 4 to a spring 6. The member 1 is clamped at parts 1e between insulating members 5d, 5g, the parts 1f providing for movement of the parts 1b, 1c with contact 4. According to the Provisional Specification, the contact 4 is omitted and the parts 3a serve as the moving contact.
