Abstract

1,015,890. Two-part couplings. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. May 1, 1964 [July 26, 1963], No. 29815/63. Heading H2E. A socket, for receiving a coaxial cable convector, comprises a moulding of synthetic plastics material having an outer cylindrical wall 1 and an integral coaxial stud-like member 2 substantially equal in length to the outer cylindrical wall, a metal socket contact 6 in an axial bore of the member 2 and a metal sleeve 9 in the annular recess between the wall 1 and the member 2. The socket contact is closed at one end and provided with a tailpiece 7 which is cranked to maintain the socket contact in the bore. The sleeve 9 is resilient and is in the form of an incomplete cylinder. It is secured in the annular recess by opposed inturned edges 11 lying over a boss 12 of the member 2 and has an earthing tailpiece.
