1,015,224. Supply systems for arc welding apparatus. GLENN PACIFIC CORPORATION. Feb. 12, 1964, No. 5843/64. Heading H2H. [Also in Division H1] A D.C. (or A.C.) welder 81, 83 (Fig. 5) is fed from a polyphase (or single phase) transformer 103 through a reactor having air gaps to prevent saturation, and variable by brushes 29 moving over bared tracks on its windings 17. The inter-turn voltage of the reactor at the rated current is one volt or less. The reactor may have tappings 89 and the transformer 103 may have tappings on its primary windings to enable a lower voltage supply to be used.
