Abstract

1,014,564. Dispensing from thermoplastic tubes. ALFRED BIRD & SONS Ltd. Aug. 30, 1962 [June 2, 1961], No. 20032/61. Heading B8D. A resiliently deformable tube of thermoplastic material sealed at one end and having a dispensing aperture at the other, has a rigid slide member slidably mounted thereon and extending around substantially the whole of the periphery of the tube, the slide member having an aperture whose cross-section is only slightly larger than that of the compressed tube. On moving the slide member along the tube the tube walls are pressed together and the contents dispensed. The slide member may be of rigid synthetic resin and be roughened on the surface engaging the tube. The tube may have graduation marks printed, painted, sinked or embossed thereon.
