Abstract

1,014,370. Spindle mountings. AMERICAN MANUFACTURING CO. OF TEXAS. Nov. 17, 1964, No. 46853/64. Heading B3B. A mounting for a spindle 11 in the headstock 10 of a machine tool comprises coaxial inner and outer rows of roller bearings 16 and 15 respectively having a common intermediate race member formed by co-operating inner and outer race rings 22 and 23. The extreme inner and outer races 19 and 17 of the assembly are respectively mounted on the spindle and headstock and co-operate with abutments 20 and 18. Adjustment of the assembly is effected by the nut 31 and spacing ring 32 on the spindle.
