Abstract

Bucket-elevator apparatus.-In apparatus for lifting water by animal power, two movable inclined gangways m, i work alternately to operate a winding-drum to which two leather buckets are attached. The two gangways are connected by a rope f, f<1>, which is wound a number of times around a pulley on the drum shaft. Each bucket is suspended by and between two ropes c, b, the slings of which support and keep the bucket from overturning until the moment of discharge when the connexion to the rope c passes over the pulley o. The rope c has a balance weight attached to its other end.
