Roofs.-A roof structure consists of a series of parallel trusses fixed at one or both ends to girders supported by cables or rods provided with suitable tension devices. Fig. 1 shows a suitable truss consisting of principal rafters a of lattice form connected to the post b, the foot of which is connected to the tie d and may be prolonged to join the lower tie e. The girders h may be entirely suspended by cables p, or their ends may rest on walls h<1>, Fig. 5.
