Abstract
A desulphurization catalyst comprises a carrier consisting of dispersed ZnO and supported thereon a compound containing hexavalent Mo and oxygen. The catalyst may be prepared by intimately mixing (1) ZnO, water and NH4HCO3 optionally in the presence of CO2, or (2) ZnO, CO2 and aqueous NH3, moulding, drying and heating the mixture together with a compound containing Mo6+ and oxygen. Additionally the catalyst may contain Cu. Examples are given. Specification 833,231 is referred to.
