Abstract

1,010,791. Automatic bobbin-changing looms. TOYODA AUTOMATIC LOOM WORKS Ltd. April 4, 1962. [April 5, 1961], No. 12912/62. Heading D1E. When the transfer hammer 23 inserts a fresh bobbin, the shuttle is threaded on the first pick by means of a plunger 26 which pushes the weft down into the shuttle near the eve; on being cut by scissors 27, the weft is drawn through the eye by a suction tube 29 containing jaws 28 which hold it until the shuttle has been picked. The weft of the ejected bobbin was previously cut by scissors 31. The mechanism is brought into action by turning a shaft 11, which swings hooks 22, 24, into range of hooked rods 20, 21 actuated by cams 16,17.
