Abstract

1,009,578. Jet pulverizers. HELME PRODUCTS Inc. June 5, 1964 [June 5, 1963], No. 23437/64. Heading B2A. In a jet pulverizer comprising an impact grinding chamber 56 communicating with a classification chamber 44, recesses 13, 21 in the chamber are provided with removable linings. The recess 13 has a rear liner plate 34, a peripheral liner 36 and a front liner plate. The recess 21 has liner blocks 49, 54, 58, 61 and 64, the blocks 54, 61 opening into offtake and return leg passages 46, 47 formed by a deflector 38. The liner blocks in the recess 21 are held against endwise movement by plates 68, 71. The mill has a front cover plate 84. Cover plate 84 and the front liner plate are preferably transparent plastic. The remaining liners may be made of P.T.F.E. Material to be pulverized is supplied by a hopper 74 and pressure fluid, e.g. air, is supplied through adjustable secondary and primary nozzles 78, 79 respectively. In a modification, the hopper is replaced by a rigid tube connected by flexible tubing to a pipette. Specification 765,257 is referred to.
