Abstract

1,009,175. Raising liquids. CKD DUKLA, NARODNI PODNIK. June 29, 1962 [June 30, 1961], No. 25142/62. Addition to 961,332. Heading FIR. [Also in Division E1] The invention is a modification of the invention disclosed in the parent specification. A reservoir 6, Fig. 1, is emptied via a liquid seal 2 by applying a suction pulse through a pipe 1 to actuate a siphon 5. The liquid level in seal 2 is maintained by an overflow 3. The embodiment of Fig. 2 comprises a photometry apparatus, in which a beam of light is passed through a fixed quantity of liquid in a vessel 8 which is emptied by the application of a suction pulse to siphon 5. In the embodiment of Fig. 3, two sources 20, 22 of pulses are provided. Liquid is continuously supplied to tank 12 which supplies vessel 15, which overflows into vessel 17. When vessel 17 is full, its contents siphon out through siphon 18. The suction thereby produced in pipe 21 causes siphoning over of vessel 15, this process then repeating.
