Abstract
1,008,984. Washing devices. S. MARKMAN Of London Ltd. April 30, 1964, [May 9, 1963], No. 18324/63. Heading D1A. A washing device comprises a generally spherical container 1 mounted so as to be movable to agitate the washing and having an opening closed by a cover 3 rotable by its handle 4 between open and closed position the junction being made airtight by a sealing ring. Container 1 comprises portions 1a, 1b connected together by a channel band 14 carrying stub axles 2 mounted in bearings in a metal or plastic stand 8, one axle 2 carrying a handle 6 by which container 1 is rotated. A pressure relief valve in cover 3 is operable from outside the container. The handle may alternatively rotate the container through gearing and the axis of rotation of the container may be movable. Otherwise an electric motor may be used. Several containers may be mounted on one stand and the stand may be mounted on wheels. The container may be securable in various positions. The cover or containers or both may be transparent and the container may have a stirrer or gas may be bubbled there through a water heater may be provided.
