A dispensing pump according to the parent specification is modified in that the hinged annular valve on the plunger is replaced by a cup washer 1 mounted with freedom of axial movement on a carrier member 2 so that an inward movement of the plunger the washer seats on a face 6 to close the inlet passages L while permitting flow from the cylinder via passages 3, 4, H, H to the plunger passage G, and on the outward movement of the plunger the washer leaves the seat 6 to permit inflow into the cylinder from the port K via the passages 3, 4.
