Abstract

1,008,321. Creels. W. H. K. PRODUCTS Ltd. June 23, 1964, No. 25817/64. Heading D1J. The invention relates to creels having pairs of spindles, the spindles 10, 11 of each pair being capable of being directed towards a common yarn guide with the tail end of the yarn on one package Y tied to the start of the yarn on the other package Y. The package spindles 10, 11 are capable of being angularly displaced about individual bars 27, Fig. 6, carried by a further bar 28 that can be withdrawn from a guide member 32 to the position shown in broken lines. With the bar 28 in its withdrawn position the package Y can be pivoted to the broken line position for attention by the operator. To minimize the spacing of the spindles 10, 11 the packages YY are surrounded by cans 12, 13 so shaped as to prevent the ballooning effect of the yarn being drawn from one package from contacting the other package, the cams having slots 23, Fig. 4 (not shown) whereby the yarn of one package can be connected to the other.
