[Also in Divisions B7 and G2] The plunger of a Bowden mechanism is axially movable by actuation of a knob 1 on a hand piece 5 against loading of a spring 7. The plunger 2 mounts a splined shaft or pinion 8 so that rotation of the knob 1 is effective to move a rack 9. The end 13 of the Bowden mechanism includes a screw thread 14 (or alternatively a bayonet connection) by which the mechanism may be attached to a housing. In the embodiment described, axial movement of the plunger 2 is used to operate the magazine slide changing mechanism of a projector and rotation of the pinion 8 effects focusing of the projector lens mount 10.
