Abstract

100,633. Swift & Co., (Assignees of Moore, H. H.). June 10, 1915, [Convention date]. Branding by heat; hand stamps; printing and embossing surfaces.-A hand-tool for branding by heat or by ink comprises two parallel plates 7, 8 spaced apart by blocks 9, which carry branding- characters 2 supported independently and resiliently by square stems 4 passing through square holes in the plates 7, 8 and having coil springs 5 thereon. Pins or shoulders 6 in the bars 4 limit their sliding movement. A handle 3 is secured to the tool by bolts and nuts 10, which also hold the plates 7, 8 and blocks 9 together.
