Abstract

1,006,256. Inductors. COLUMBIA PRODUCTS CO. Sept. 17, 1962, No. 35391/62. Heading H1T. [Also in Division H4] A high frequency, high Q coil for loading an aerial and which may be incorporated in the aerial structure comprises a cylindrical former 11 with metal bands or caps 12 at the ends, and three conductors 13, 14, 15 wound around the cylinder and axially disposed to form a single layer coil, the ends of the conductors being connected to points 16 displaced from one another by 120 degrees on the members 12. The turns may be spaced apart as shown, or touching. Axially-extending conductors 17 connect the coil to the aerial circuitry. In an aerial structure. Fig. 3, a resin-bonded glass fibre former 19 is provided with a coil as shown, and the bands 12 are displaced along the former, connection being made by straight conductors 21. Aerial conductors 23, 24 are connected to the bands 12. An outlet layer of resin bonded glass fibre 20 is provided and glass fibre may separate the turns of the coil.
