Abstract

Copper, nickel or cobalt rubeanates are cathodically deposited from aqueous electrolytes containing soluble salts of the metals and an alcoholic solution of rubeanic acid. If the deposit is made on a photoconductive zinc-oxide-in-resin layer A.C. or D.C. may be used. An iron-rubeanic acid complex compound may be cathodically deposited from a similar electrolyte containing ferrous chloride and rubeanic acid with an applied potential of 80 volts.
