Abstract

1,005,215. Suction moulding. G. MIKKELBORG. March 22, 1962, No. 10948/62. Heading B5A. In moulding shapes of wax or wax-like materials, for use in the " lost wax " moulding method, the pressure is reduced in the mould of rubber or like deformable material prior to the introduction thereinto of the molten wax or wax-like material. By raising a rubber mould 6 a switch 14 opens a valve 13 thus connecting a vacuum pump 10 through a filter 11, which intercepts any wax from the nozzle opening, to the mould. At the same time the nozzle 5 is raised to open a valve 3 thus allowing wax under pressure to enter the mould after it has been evacuated and a two-way switch 9 turned round. The nozzle 5 valve 3 and wax pot 1 are surrounded by insulation 8 and 2.
