Abstract
1,004,226. Measuring resistance. TESLA NARODNI PODNIK. Oct. 29,1963 [Nov. 5, 1962; Sept.17, 1963], No. 42657/63. Heading G1U. An arrangement for measuring a very high resistance R1 includes a voltage source 1 which establishes a current flowing through R1, this current being balanced by an opposite polarity current derived from a source of steadily increasing voltage through a capacitor C1. This source of steadily increasing voltage consists of an integrating amplifier 4 having an integrating resistor R2 and an integrating capacitor C2, supplied from a D.C. voltage source 2. This voltage is adjusted until a steady null condition is derived, as shown on the indicator 3A supplied from the difference amplifier 3, at which condition the relation is satisfied. The output from the difference amplifier 3 may be used to alter the voltage of the source 2 automatically (Fig. 3 not shown) and an amplifier may be included between the D.C. amplifier 4 and the capacitor C1 (Fig. 4 not shown). Such an arrangement minimises the effect of the leakage resistance of the capacitor C1.
