Abstract
1,004,152. Prefabricated buildings. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. March 14, 1962 [April 19, 1961], No. 9827/62. Heading E1A. In a building assembled from prefabricated room units 3, 10 each comprising at least one wall arranged between beams 13, 33 of a supporting framework and wherein said wall includes a layer of lightweight porous material such as foam concrete 37 and a covering layer 40 applied thereto, a space 38 is left between the walls of adjacent units for sound insulating purposes. Adjacent units are mounted on a common foundation 9 by the bolted-flange connection shown with the inter-position of spacing means 21, 22 incorporating a rubber layer 24 to reduce transmission of "contact" sound. Upper room units 6 are likewise secured and the partition walls additionally include a second layer of foam concrete 39 and an ornamental coating 41.
