1,003,976. Yeast foods and feeds. KINKI YAKULT SEIZO KABUSHIKI KAISHA & MEIJI SEIKA KUISHA Ltd. Feb. 20, 1962 [Feb. 23, 1961; June 2, 1961], No. 6434/62. Heading A2B. To make available the nutrients in foods and feeds containing yeast, e.g. Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Torulopsis utilis, the walls of the yeast cells are decomposed by a #-glucanase produced by cultivation of an appropriate micro-organism, eg. a species of Trichoderma, Aspergillus, Actinomycetes, Penicillium, the yeast treatment being at pH 3.0-6.5 at 25-60‹C. for 10-48 hours.
