Abstract

1,002,209. Hand tool handles. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. June 6, 1963 [June 12, 1962], No. 22593/63. Heading B4K. A sectional handle 2 for a suction cleaner or floor polisher comprises hollow cylindrical components 3, 4 of thermoplastic synthetic material, a metal tube with sleeves at its ends being inserted in the cylinder so that the sleeves rest against the inside of the handle. The handle parts 3, 4, Fig. 1, are connected by a screwed or plug-and-socket joint 5 and a metal tube 6 having piston-like sleeves 7, 8 at its ends is inserted in the cylinder. In a modification, the metal tube carries an additional central sleeve which forms a connecting joint for the parts of the handle. In another modification ribs are provided on the hollow cylinder to serve as stops for the metal tube 6 and against which the sleeve 7 bears. In another modification, Fig. 5, the metal tube 6 carries the cylinder 11 and sleeve 7. The tube 6 and cylinder 11 are fitted into each other and have longitudinal slots arranged at an angle of 180 degrees to each other.
