Abstract

1,001,807. Percussive tools. TEROBE S.A. Jan. 7, 1964 [Jan. 8, 1963], No. 694/64. Heading B4C. [Also in Division B3] A portable percussive tool comprises a body portion 1 containing an electric motor 2 and a gear-box 5, the latter rotating an eccentric 7 which imparts a reciproating movement to a shaft 10 loaded at one end by a spring 11 and fitted, at its other end, with a percussion member 9, apertures 29, 30 being provided for the passage of cooling air. The eccentric 7 engages with the shaft 10 so that upon upward movement of the latter the spring is compressed thereby causing the shaft and member 9 to be thrust downwardly with a greater energy than would be effected by the movement of the eccentric alone. When the tool is to be used for hammering dents out of sheet metal, an anvil member may be located below the percussion member and connected to the body 1 by means of a resilient rod. A support for the tool is provided and comprises a column 19, Fig. 3, mounted on a trolley 18, a member 20 being movable in the column by means of a rack-and-pinion drive 21, 23. A clamp 27 for the tool is suspended by means of a cable 26 from a tubular arm 24, the cable being connected to a spring 25.
