Abstract

1,001,578. Moulding shoe fillers. BRITISH BOOT, SHOE & ALLIED TRADES RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. June 7, 1963 [June 8, 1962], No. 22327/62. Heading B5A. [Also in Division A3] A shoe filler comprises a body of cellular plastics or elastomeric material moulded to fit the shoe and having sufficient stiffness and resilience to maintain the shape of the shoe. The filler 4 is made in a mould consisting of two holders 1, 2 which are made by vacuum moulding sheet plastics materials, e.g. polyethylene or polypropylene, to the shape of a model of the required shape. The foamable material, e.g. polyurethane, is introduced into the mould through a hole 3. The mould 12 may be made of a material to which the foamable material will adhere so that the mould forms the outer skin of the filling.
