Abstract

100,142. Thompson, W. P., (Union Special Machine Co.). Jan. 18,1916. Seams. - In a seam comprising several rows of needle-thread loops, the needle-thread loops of the outer rows are spread upon the surface of the fabric and concatenated with the needle-thread loops of inner rows, as shown in Fig. 1. All the needle-thread loops are entered on the underside of the fabric by a single looper thread, which becomes disposed as shown in Fig. 2; or two underthreads may be used, the loops of each outer row being crossconcatenated with the loops of the further inner row. The seam may be used for uniting abutting or overlapping edges, for overstitching, or for ornamentation.
