Abstract

Winding-machines.-In a cop and pirn winding machine, the feeding-device carrying the feeler and the thread-guide is controlled on its guide-rod by a ball clamp. The feeler-disk i, Fig. 2, is mounted on ball bearings on a sleeve l on the guide-rod k. A cone m carrying balls v and an abutment u also slides on the rod. When the disk i is pressed in the direction of the arrow I by the growing cop, a second cone n connected to the disk at o is moved to release the balls v. A spring p keeps the two cones normally pressed together to lock the balls.
