Abstract

1,000,793. A.C. track circuit. WESTING- HOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO. Ltd. June 22, 1962 [July 14, 1961], No. 25553 /61. Heading B7N. A receive arrangement for an A.C. track circuit using continuous rails comprises a track relay RC connected to the rails PQ via a twostage band pass filter, including capacitors C1, C2 and inductors L1, L2, a transistor amplifier TR1 and a rectifying circuit including diode D1 and capacitor C3. The transistor base-emitter voltage/collector current characteristic is such that the collector current increases rapidly and operates the relay when the input voltage exceeds a predetermined level. In a second arrangement, Fig. 4 (not shown), for use where A.C. traction is employed and in which the track circuit current is modulated, points M and N are connected to the relay via a circuit which amplifies and rectifies the demodulated signal.
