Abstract

Nozzles.-Relates to turbine stators having long radial vanes for elastic working-fluids in the expansion of which the critical pressure ratio is exceeded, and consists in forming these vanes by rolling or drawing into bars of uniform section and then milling or planing them off in such a way that the ratio of the minimum width of the passages between the vanes to the outlet width is uniform throughout the whole length of the vanes, the cross-section of the finished blades at the outer ends of their fluid operative surfaces being the same as the uniform section of the unshaped bars.
